I had a situation where my driver's fuel card was somehow copied, and on the first day of the month, all the fuel limits were used up. The loss exceeded €4000, and the fuel station network didn’t even provide camera footage due to some data protection issues. The theft occurred at a suspicious station in a village, but the card provider did not acknowledge any fault on their part.

Like many in this business, we also experienced this misunderstanding. However, the strangest part was that we had set weekly limits, which didn’t work. As a result, the loss amounted to about €8000. The supplier offered to split the bill into parts and seemed somewhat guilty, but they couldn't guarantee that the limits would work next time. So, we simply changed to more reliable fuel cards.

I ordered fuel cards from one of the largest suppliers. After two months, 3 out of 7 cards were used in trucks that didn’t belong to our company. No one could explain how this happened. All of these vehicles were on different routes, but the thefts occurred at the same fuel stations. The loss amounted to €17,000. No compensation was offered, and when I refused to pay without an explanation, I was taken to court.
