Major card distributors obtain the best possible prices from standard fuel station networks, then add their markup, which is determined by your fuel consumption in liters. On top of that, they apply an additional service fee to maintain their massive and inefficient management system.

Paid Customer Portal
Despite their high markups, major card distributors often require you to manage many services through a self-service customer portal. This helps them further reduce administrative costs, but using the portal is often charged to you.

Currency Conversion
When you refuel in a country where the local currency is not EUR, major fuel card distributors and suppliers apply their own exchange rates (currency mark-ups), which can be as high as 6%. While they may tell you that this is a complex process and all within the rules, that's not the case. It's simply another way for them to increase their profit margin.

Special or Max Price Fuel Stations
